Esther Klavan

Director, Rabbi Mark and Linda Karasick Shalem High School at Torah Academy of Bergen County

A member of the SINAI faculty since 2001, Esther Klavan has been Director of SINAI’s Shalem High Schools since 2013. Over the years she has coordinated SINAI’s collaborative language program, developing therapy sessions and curricula that infuse language-based goals into each student’s learning experience. As Director of the Shalem High School at TABC, she manages all aspects of the school, including generating students’ goals, curriculum development, vocational and life skills training, and professional staff development. Mrs. Klavan believes that understanding receptive and expressive language challenges is critical when educating her students, and enjoys strategizing with her colleagues to better meet students’ needs both in and out of the classroom.

Mrs. Klavan received her BA from Yeshiva University’s Stern College, and earned a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Kean University. She has created and presented numerous workshops on topics such as Effective Use of Questioning in the Classroom, Modeling, Assessment, and Teaching to Mastery.
