Individualization

We build a unique, individualized program for every single one of our students.

At SINAI Schools, we don’t shoehorn our students into a predetermined special education program. Instead, in collaboration with our parents, we develop an individualized plan and schedule for each child, based on what that child needs.

We begin with the CHILD. What does he or she need, academically, socially, and emotionally? For every aspect of that child’s day, we work to create the perfect environment. For each academic subject we consider not only the child’s scholastic abilities, but also which grouping of students is most appropriate, both academically and socially.

Depending on each individual child’s needs, we provide various therapies, both as “push-in” and “pull-out” sessions, throughout the week. Finally, we consider inclusion a major part of each child’s individualized plan. On a case by case basis and throughout the year, we collaborate with parents to determine the ways in which their child will best benefit from the different inclusion opportunities available, and incorporate that into his or her individualized plan.

And because children grow and change, we believe that each child’s individualized plan should evolve as he or she develops, as part of an ongoing process. Our parents, teachers and administrators meet as a collaborative team regularly during the school year in order to discuss each child’s progress and reshape his or her individualized plan.

There are no words that can adequately describe our appreciation for all that SINAI has done for our daughter this year. We marvel at how much she has grown and developed, and we know that is due in large part to your amazing administration and staff. C's team of teachers and therapists worked tirelessly with the administrators to customize a program that would meet her specific needs. All of this was accomplished with an unbelievable level of warmth, patience and acceptance, and with consistent feedback on her progress.
